The Thrive training and events programme is available to all professionals who work with children, young people, and families.
The programme is designed to enable professionals to support children, young people, and families with their emotional health and wellbeing.

Training 2023-2024
All of our training programmes are funded by Thrive Hull but free to attendees. Please ensure you cancel your place if you are unable to attend so that others are able to benefit from the training.

This two-day course will help any member of staff across the whole school community who would like to become a MHFAider® to gain the knowledge and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health, be confident to start a conversation, and to support colleagues.

This training aims to give an introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Early Trauma, including on the impact of childhood adversity, trauma-informed practices, protective factors and how to build resilience.
The course is aimed at all professionals who work with children and young people.

This 1 hour, 30 minute training session, led by Dr Laura Stone, Principal Clinical Psychologist in the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), will explore the benefits of a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) approach within schools, introduce the ARC framework, and cover how TIC can be embedded into education settings.
Please note tickets are limited to three per education setting.

Pre-requisite to becoming an ARC Champion.
This two-day training course for all staff who have direct or regular contact with Children and Young People who may be affected by trauma.
This level of training will support those working on a daily basis with Children and Young People.
This training is delivered by national trainer Kati Taunt and offers the opportunity for those attending to become ARC Champions within their own service areas.

A more in depth training session for all staff who have direct or regular contact with Children and Young People who may be affected by trauma.
This level of training will support those working on a daily basis with Children and Young People.

A slightly more in depth training session for all staff who have direct or regular contact with Children and Young People who may be affected by trauma (even if this is not known about).
This level of training will be relevant to most staff delivering care across statutory services, Health and Social Care, Youth Justice, Emergency Services and VCS Organisations

Two half day training sessions aimed at Senior Leaders from our Stakeholder and Partnership Organisations across the 6 places of the Humber and North Yorkshire region who can really affect organisational change.
Once Leaders have attended the ARC training, we hope that this will give them a greater understanding of the ARC Framework, to enable them to support their staff in implementing a Trauma Informed approach and some of them becoming ARC Champions.

The Solihull Foundation Practitioner training is for everyone who works with families and children.
Solihull Approach Foundation Training is all about supporting emotional health and wellbeing with a focus on relationships and nurturing connected, sensitive and responsive interactions.
The Solihull Approach was founded in practice and all of our training is evidence-based, developed by psychologists, child psychotherapists, and practitioners. It is a way of thinking and working with families, groups or one-to-one that transcends professions and communities.
The Solihull Approach is also about understanding brain development to understand behaviour, communication and emotional health.

You must attend both training dates to complete the course.

This 20 minute online training will support you in:
Identifying the signs of when someone might be suffering from suicidal thoughts.
Feeling comfortable speaking out about suicide in a supportive manner.
Signposting anyone suffering to the correct services and support.

This two-day course will help participants be able to spot signs, offer support, and keep young people safe when they are experiencing mental health difficulties.
